The Atlantic Wall:
The Atlantic wall was a system of bunkers built across the coast line. They where built and run by Hitler and Nazi Germany between 1942 and 1945 along the western coast of Europe and Scandinavia. They where made as a defence against an allied invasion on the mainland of the UK. The bunkers where made from concrete, the materials that where used inside where wood, steel and metal. Most of the bunkers are still standing today, some are partly demolished and some are intact. The public are allowed to have a look around the bunkers to experience what it must of been like in 1942. The whole system was controlled by Nazi, Germany, it was due to D-Day. The bunkers where manned by 300,00 troops, Hitler wanted every metre of the 5,000 kilometre Atlantic coast to be defended by a continuous amount of bunkers placed along the coast line. He wanted this finished by May 1943, in just seven months. Hitler would spend his evening's designing the bunkers, he would also plot where he was going to put them. Here is a video which will show what happened in 1942: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnnzQRFPaHs

Hitler's Death:
Hitler was announced dead in April 30th 1945, he committed suicide by a gunshot believed to go threw his mouth. His wife Eva also committed suicide with Hitler. They both died in a bunker, that afternoon after they committed suicide their belongings where carried up the stairs threw the bunkers emergency exit, all their belongings where set alight to with petrol and burnt. Records have also been found that their remains were recovered in specific locations. There are lots of rumours about Adolf Hitler's death, some of which have been believed that he could have drank poison and another account said that he bite a cyanide capsule. I think that Hitler's death was a huge shock so was his wife's. I believe that Hitler's wife also committed suicide so that the blame wouldn't arise to her.
